Cooler Temp. Needed HOW????
Us V6 owners are at a disadvantage because we can't use fan switchs in place of our thermistor sensors, does anybody know of a replacement or a thermistor with a different temp vs. ohms curve where a person can fool the computer into thinking that the engine is hotter then it is thus cutting in the fan at an earlier temp. Cost is not a problem, I don't want to just wire a manual switch, I just want something that looks stock and IS AUTOMATIC SO I don't have to remember to turn it OFF and ON, because when your going faster then 40 mph and you don't turn off the fan, you are stalling the fan thus killing any cooling from the road or fan, and killing the fan motor's life.

Why won't a fan switch from a v8 fit where our fan switches go?

It's not a fan switch, on a V6 you only have one fan and it is controled by the ECM which uses a thermistor to sense the TEMP. by how much voltage. A fan switch just turns on and off a relay based on Temp and the 2nd fan on a v8 is controled the same way our fan is controled on later model V6 camaros.
I'm stupid when it comes to this stuff, BUT....why not cut the line going to your fan and run a fan switch to the fan with a new line using one of them fan switches that determines when to come on by the temperature.....I'm guessing you'll just need a power and a ground for it.

That's exactly what I was thinking; cut the computer out of the loop. (Before it's said, yes, use a resistor to simulate the missing sensor.)

Ah that would be nice BUT THE ECM i think would set a code because the temp/voltage would always be the same , I guess what I need to do is drill another hole in the manifold, BUT I can 't understand why I can't find a thermistor with a different temp/voltage curve, the only thermistor that I could find had a rating of 630 ohms at 212F I need it to be 100 ohms at 212F to fool it.
Thanks for the help, I'll keep looking before I go to all that trouble of wireing. and cutting up my good 1992 RS Camaro.
