For your exhaust, me and everyone else here would recommend a Dynomax cat-back. Borlas and Flowmsters dont ound good on a v6. And headers for our v6 don't exist.

Good luck finding a supercharger, you'll probably have as much luck with that as you will with the headers.

Probably the best thing you can do for your v6 is:
1. Tune up. TomP can give you a link to a post for this
2. Read other people's sigs or do a search for upgrade ideas.
3. Visit http:www.geocities.com/overlift for some good ideas to start with.

Actually, you can get some s-10 headers to go onto our f-bodies. It'll just take some bending to the headers. Also, you can get some pacesetter headers for the 3.4 liter and get those bent to fit our cars too. But, headers is not the place to start for our 6's. For exhaust, get the dynomax cat back and a dynomax direct fit cat converter. Full tune up is a great way to start too. Check my sig too! Good luck, payce.

I would get a dynomax cat back before ya toss a boral on it. For the cost ya can't beat the dynomax.

In the end you most likely won't toss in a V8. You will sell it for one with a V8 like most I have known.

So after the cat back I would look into NOS. NOS could go back and forth from your V6 to a V8. I would then look into a locker and some 4.10 rear gears. Again that would help if you tossed a V8 in.

NOS (Nitrous), gears and a locker are mods you can take to a V8. So until your sure about your V6 you really won't be wasting any money.

You can also get LCA's, panhard rod, torque arm and KYB shocks and struts which again would all help if you tossed a V8 in and those mods would help your V6 big time too.....

Hell, just swap in a 3.4 long block and go have fun!
Make sure you have a good tranny.
I killed my rebuilt one. This 3.4 has so much power.

i understand that a 3.4L has more power than a 2.8L or a 3.1L but if a 700R4 can stand the power of a 305TPI or a 350TPI i'm sure it can handle a 3.4L with no problem. More likely than not your tranny wasn't rebuilt properly, or was wearing anyway. How long a tranny lasts depends a lot on how the car was driven.

as far as your car goes, there are plenty of mods that'll work on a v6. 4.10 gears will help your acceleration out a lot, but will kill your top end speed, plus you'd run higher RPM's on the highway, and your fuel economy (who needs it) would go to crap. also, if you have a 5 spd. you'd be shiftnig all day long. Nitrous is always a good one, but a v6 can hold only about 75-100hp on the stock block. Now as far as mufflers and exaust goes, dynomax are apparently the cat-back of choice, flowmasters are "loud" (not sure about obnoxious though) and borla is expensive. I've also heard that the dynomax is much quieter than the flows. Now, a flow should give you a typical Deep throaty sound at idle until about 2500rpm's past 3k it'll sound like a v6 again, and a loud v6. superchargers are going to be hard to get done, and especially because most of the work would have to be fabbed because a sc doesn't exist for the 2.8L's. same with a turbo charger although there were some 3.1L turbos in GP's i think. headers can be done, but they have to be 3.4L pace setter headers , and a custom Y-Pipe would be involved because of the crossmember i believe, but 3.1firebird has info on that. that's about all, i'd say, if you're satisified in having a v6, you might as well make it fast, if you're not, than sell it, buy a f-body with a beat 305 in it, and then pull the 305 and place in a 327,350,400,455, etc. what ever floats your boat. And i'm sure you'll have loads of fun either way.

Headers do exist for a 2.8, 3.1, and 3.4 V6 firebird i have a set, and a flowmaster with headers does not sound bad on a 2.8 becase thats what i am running.
