2.8L throwing code 32, 34

Friends 89 2.8L Camaro wont start. He was comming home and his car stalled. his check engine light came on a few times while driving the past few weeks, he would turn it off and then back on and it would go out. 32 Is EGR failure, and 34 says MAF is sensing low air flow. And the car still wont start. Checked a few things the book said to check, and i think he might Have a bad ECM. any clues, or help????

Yep your right, buy a new EGR and a MAP sensor and then disconnect the battery to clear codes and see what happens. Let me know, You can't start the car with out a MAP sensor sorry.

Have ya checked spark?
If ya have spark, it may be a faint blue spark.
The spark MUST BE LIGHTENING WHITE BRIGHT SPARK to ignite engine.
Could be total ignition failure.

Actualy i just checked it before i came home. NO SPARK, but i don't know why, im gonna check the coil tomorrow, tried to tonight but the tester probes are too thick, gonna grind em down tonight, i got another one anyways... But im just wondering why all of a sudden it would stop working, and i would get those two codes. It did it before, but i was only the EGR code. And today it was the MAF. and i thought maybe the MAF caused the EGR code also.

Mine died on my Wife, at an intersection.
Damp rainy day.
Up to then, it was kinda acting up, but, didn't understand why.
My Wife was about 4 months pregnant and I was not happy.
Just hook up other coil, as is and it'll probably start.
One time, my friend had her Honda died while driving on the freeway.
Coil.
Why they give up like that?
Why not?
It just does, one of those marvels of Ben Franklins invention, Electricity!

Actually, you can start the car and run it without a MAF sensor. (I don't know about MAP sensors; that's a 90-92 "speed density" system.) Sometimes a MAF will go bad and throw the computer off without setting a code. If the MAF is the problem, and you unplug it, the car will start once, die right away, and set the code. The second time you start the car it should stumble a bit and then roar to life... go for a drive, if the car doesn't stall anymore, your MAF is shot.

You can also inspect the orange "frequency film" inside the MAF. It should be perfectly flat; no wrinkles or curves or creases. If it's damaged, the MAF is shot. There's also the MAF fuse; on the upper passenger frame rail, with a brown and orange wire going to it.

Before you buy an EGR, make sure you need to. Fashion a block-off plate for the EGR's connection to the throttle body. I'd imagine you could just use a thin piece of aluminum... place it between the brass-colored hose and the TB. That'll wipe the EGR out of the equation.

Was it a hot day? If an ignition module's bad, it'll die when it gets hot- and you won't get the car started again until the module cools. However, if the module was bad, he should be able to start the car when the car's cold. But yeah, I don't see why a MAF error code and EGR error code would cause a no-start condition...
