3.4 Heads or P/P 3.1 Heads???

Someone told me that a good mod for the car would be to put 3.4 liter heads on my 3.1. Will this make any sort of difference or should I get 3.1 heads from and auto yard and have them port and polished? Whisch would be the best? Thanks for any info or advice.

Hi Josh,
I am one of those people that preach THERE IS NO REPLACEMENT FOR DISPLACEMENT.
Because I went whole hog & did the complete swap.
I can only say save your effort if your engine is in good shape (now), search for the 3.4 complete running engine in a wrecking yard and toss it under your current hood. Here's how.

That'll be another nickle
Josh, you already have the 3.4 heads. There is no difference between your 3.1 heads than my 3.4 except I have better valve springs and matching retainers. You cannot bore out the 3.1 to equal a 3.4
It is a beefier block to start with (than a 3.1 engine).
Save the effort, make sure what you have is in great shape, especially the tranny (all of us 2.8->3.4 swappers lose the tranny soon after, me including!).
Read the thread and ask your questions. Bye
