Many questions about compucam2030 and 1.52 rockers

I alreay have a kand n with a generic ram air system, hypertech chip, and 160*thermo and 8.5 mm wires.
what should I run with this. is this worth it. I'll probably add a 6a ignition too if it'll help let me know . I dont wanna go through this if I'm not gonna see lower 16 ors so. I also plan on doing a 3.73 swap with posi. Plesae help me out on all of the subjects.
thanks alot!!

I ran a more aggressive cam that was custom made with alot of other mods and ran 14.9 on engine, Anyways i was just playing with a dyno program as i am thinking about building another engine. I got 240hp from a 3.1 and a best of 14.59 in the 1/4. Add a 90 shot and say hello to mid 13's. Real life i would say 13.7'ish. I got 13.8 on the last build with NOS. I was rerunning numbers and should have had better gears and stall, would have seen mid 13's then.

I ran the 2030 WITH 1.52 rockers, gasket matched only heads, ported and gasket matched intakes. Free flow exhuast with no headers. 3.73 gears with good traction. 2000 stall on a 4 speed. 26.5 in tires with shift points at 5800 to 6000 depending on what gear and went thru the traps in 3rd. I showed a 16.1. I moved to a 280/290 214/224 - at .050.... .443/.465 with 112 lobes and moved stall to 2100 and showed a 15.7

Now add ported and polished heads, with more on the exhuast side, move stall to 2400. Add cold air and see a 14.59. Apperantly the car at 3221 with a 225lbs drive likes the head work and stall increase. the shifts seemed to be moved to 6500 to which i do not like but it shows the engine likes to rev. There was 240hp total with 204hp to the rear wheels on the last combo. I also found on the desktop dyno the engine likes to breath. The more i did the porting/polishing and gasket matching, exhuast the more power it made off the bat. Anyways to answer your question: Yes a 2030 with 1.52 rollers WILL net some horsepower BUT you WILL get more if you port and match your intakes and spend some money on your heads too. I would expect about 10 to 15 hp just in the changeover, expect 25 to 30 in the headwork, add the cam and do the heads with the intakes and i would expect 45 to 50 WITH a free flow exhaust. These dynos seem to be pretty accurate but not spot on. With my real combo i built it was within .19 seconds of the G-tech however. Hope that all helps.

when you say free flow exhast you mean a highs flo cat or no cat at all?? My best buds dad owns a mehcanic/muffler shop here and town and does custom exhaust work. what would be the best set up?? also, please explain the age old question of whyt the 3.4 headers, wont work on a 3.1 even though they are the same block. Also please explain ina little more detail if you dont mind about matching things.
thanks again

So if I got some I could have my buddy's dad bend them for me?? he'll do it for like 25 bucks I called him today, he treats his sons friends very nicely. Well then maybe some 3.4 headers are in the near future. what brand should i look for?? pacesetter the popular ones I've heard about I think. How much will those go for?
thanks for all the help

I took the liberty to run it thru the dyno... with your mods that you listed i got a 17.94... now while thats horrable and you prolly run faster now without em heres why... Gears, i listed at 3.23:1, moving to 3.73 will drop you to 16.80... Stall, i listed at 1900 (stock) moving to 2400 will drop you to 15.72. Heads - get em done over - it didn't list time that it would save but expect a good .2 if you get em done - there corking ya big time. I listed the run at good traction, good driver and 650 feet above sealevel, 80 degrees and 75% humidity with the bar pressure at 30.00.

Heres my suggestion... work on your gears first, get the stuff installed you want and then get your stall going... both were worth a second in time....

yeah a few guys i talked to said building up a six isnt worth it........but i feel differently.........1. everybody has an 8
2. it will cost the same amount to build an 8 that will run maybe a second faster
3. a 6 is just a cool new concept
