NITROUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!?

ok, once i upgrade to the 3.4 (i'm getting a brand new longblock from GM) how much of a nitrous shot is safe? i am only gonna use it when the occasional 5.slow pulls up to me and at the strip.....thats it...........also how dangerous will it be? will i screw up my engine even with moderate use? i saw a kit once especially for 2.8's-3.4's........anyone know the name of it?how hard is it to install.......and what exactly is detonation?

the best one i saw at my short employment at PAW was the one made by nitrous works... installation on of the guys told me was about 3-4 hours... Look into forged pistons, i wouldnt buy a new block and run nitrous and run the rish of grenading the engine. I saw some forged pistons for the 2.8-3.4 from paw for about 300 bucks a set.

one more thing... change the fuel filter, install a fuel pressure gauge and air/fuel ratio gauge and probably as far as a nitrous bottle pressure gauge. If you have to spray, be prepared for possible consequences, but also do what you can to prevent them.

I wanna try the 125HP size!
I enjoy holes in pistons!
Why not progressive application to full HP usage?

90 HP you can do just follow the manual.. Do I right and you can run 100-120HP shot on a limited use basis. Think about these upgrades:

1. Stock Chip
2. Forged Pisotns
3. Kenny Bell boost a a pump
4. Nitrous safety switches

I agree; 90 HP sounds safe for a "once in a while shot". Fuel pressure is the MOST IMPORTANT THING with an NOx system... get a gauge. Yes, you can't change the fuel pressure if it drops- but you can sure as hell turn the key "off" and save the pistons.

Autometer makes an "isolated" gauge for mounting inside the car. Instead of a gas line coming into the car, you get a fluid-filled hose. The hose goes between a sender (on the fuel rail) and your gauge. I hear the hose is a btch to bleed the air out of, though.

There's another company out there that makes an electric f/p gauge. The sender goes on your fuel rail, and you lead a wire into the engine compartment to run the gauge.

The Autometer unit is probably more accurate (mechanical gauges usually are), but the electric one seems much easier to install. I like the "old school" style of doing things, so when I do nitrous (whenever that is!), I'll opt for one of those gaudy "on the hood" f/p gauges.

Shoot 150HP at it. The worse that can happen is you blow the motor to shreds, leaving room for a real engine like a V8

With N2O you can beat a 5.slow??? Wow.

I don't think I'd be calling anything slow owning a 6 cylinder car. People that live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones

You guys again leave me

I guess I will never understand why anyone would put their hard-earned money into something to make it as fast as a 5.0 Mustang? They are slow by todays standards. As such, so are your little 6 bangers on crack

I think 5.7 is a frookin troll and needs to goto a class and either A: learn how to post in a way thats non insultive (as this is a V6 board) OR goto a doctor and get the foot reglued back in his big *** mouth. I recieved a email from this putz and he said and i QOUTE "Where I come from, 9 second street cars are very common. So are 10 second turbo'd V6's" It seems to me that he is a lil boy thats looking for a arguement no matter what ya say. Where he comes from a 10 second V6 is pretty damn impressive considering it is DAMN hard and expensive to get a V8 there. I bet ya i know his trip --- He heard Irocs are fast - and granted they can be, i wil bet ya he bought one cuz his acura he drove didn't have the sex appeal he wanted. so he bought the iroc to look cool and is now pissed off cuz the 10 second V6'er in his area spank him and laugh at him... Dude, i don't mind your on the V6 board, but understand its a V6 board, not V8, not a 11.99 and under and certainly not a board where we compare a V6 to a seperate and total different class of engine. So grow the **** up you *** hole, before ya go pissing someone off in your area. If you wish to email me privately again and tell me how small my ***** is, go for it, it only show just how insecure you really are and how you know you were wrong in the first place. Ok moderator - lock away

Slow by today's standards? YOUR CAR IS SLOW BY TODAY'S STANDARDS! They have plenty of cars coming off the line STOCK, that will kill your pathetic IROC. You don't deserve your car, go buy a mustang or some honda. You typically act the same as those guys. F***ing loser.

#1) I've never owned an import. I've owned Corvettes, Mustangs, Trans Ams, Camaros and anything fast that doesn't have a 6 banger.

#2) Any idiot that would waste his $$$ on a NA 6 banger and go 14's is as stupid as any ***** who would waste $$$ on a 4 cyl.

#3) I will compare pee-pee sizes and bench race with any of you at any time. I am sure I will educate you in both subjects. I won't get into things that your tiny closed minds couldn't comprehend.

#4) LMAO. This is too funny and you 6 banger guys have your defense up and ready to go. You take things too seriously. Its obvious you guys are used to being referred to as underdogs. The writing is on the wall (board) and its funny sheeeit.

I wonder if its coincidental that there are none if any 6 Banger guys from my area (Detroit). Know why? Cuase Detroit is the Motor City, and everyone here that has a clue knows that a 6 banger in a 3400lb.+ car is a fuggin {b]BRICK[/b]

Sorry guys. I just been having fun at your expense. You guys are soooo predictable

I laugh so hard at you guys that I can't take it no more. See ya later...I'm going to work on my ***** enlargement.

Due to recent foul language posts and people trying to bypass the filter, *** it blocked. I'm locking this power. Iroc, if you don't have anything helpful to say, please take it to another board. Thanks.

BTW, I think a 90 shot's ok. Try starting another thread. This one's out of hand.
