Fuel pump fuse
I know the book says to pull the fuse and run the engine till it dies to de-pressurize the fuel lines. I don't have that fuse. In my fuse block, where that fuse should be according to the owners manual, there is a space, but no connector to put a fuse in. I've owned my car since 92, and have gotten real good at changeing the filter with the line pressurized and not looseing too much fuel, except what runs down my arms. Now, I have been working on the car since I bought it, pulled every fuse in the block, but I can't kill the damn fuel pump. Am I missing something here?

nah dont do it like that, to the back of the fuel block towards the dist will be something with a screw cap on top. Unscrew, then put a rag over the thing you see and stick a flat head on it to depressurize the system. Thats the schraedar (sp?) valve. Does the same thing. (that fuel pump fuse thing didnt work for me, and that fuse is actually in the engine bay passenger side battery box.)

I had looked for a fuse, too, and couldn't find it. The fuel pump fuse in the engine compartment, on the passenger side "upper" main frame rail, at the front of the car (brown and red wires) also supplies the ECM with power- so it can't be pulled. Otherwise, no computer- and the car won't run, and nothing gets depressurized!
I'd imagine the fuel pump RELAY could be unplugged; but Graeme's idea is much easier.
HEY, I should probably replace my fuel filter! I finished replacing the fuel pump a few weeks ago; oops... I meant to replace it a day or so afterwards. Hehe... looks like I have something to do when I get home!

Thanks, I never though about using the Schraeder valve. I'll try it next time I change the filter. Boy does that gas feel good running down your arms...

Graemes, what did it bleep? Dirk changed the filters up recently because of people using profanity on here. If it's something that you don't think should be ****ed, then mail Dirk or mail me, and I'll tell Dirk.
