Ok, I know this is asking for a lot but I might as well ask. My car cannot run around town unless I have the a/c on. For some reason the electric cooling fan comes on WAY too late unless the a/c is on. So I was thinking, why don't I just rig it to run all the time? But I've heard of people replacing the motors in their fan constantly from this. So, I searched the forums and I can't remember who did it, but someone had the fan connected to a toggle switch. So when it was on, the fan would run. When it was off, it ran like normal. I really think I should do this! Could someone give me some DETAILED directions on how to do this? I'm not too good with electronic things and I don't think my dad is either. Also, when I was thinking about where I would put the toggle switch, it ocurred to me that I have no idea how I'm going to get the wires in to the inside where the toggle will be. How can I do this? Please help!! I'm tired of my car running hot!

Heres the detailed instructions. Buy toggle switch. Run the power side to a ground. Then run the other end to the passenger side head, there will be a sensor at an angle on the head with one wire splice them together. Done. btw, drill a hole under the relays on the driver side firewall..it comes directly next to the pedals..put a grommet and then run that wire to the passenger head and splice.

Elevario, you mean your car overheats? Or does it just run hot? The fan's supposed to kick on at 230 degrees. How's the car cool down on the highway? Maybe you've got 100% antifreeze in the radiator, instead of a 50% antifreeze/50% water mix?

I mean the car just runs real hot. I don't think it has ever overheated. But when it is consistently going into the red on the gauge it makes my car run like CRAP! I mean, the fan kicks in around the time it gets to the red then it will go down. Then it will go up again, then down. After doing this for a while my car just sucks! And I know it's the fan because I turned on my car and left it running without the a/c and watched the temp go up on the gauge. And the fan didn't come on until the needle got to the red. Then the temp went down. I know car gauges aren't too accurate and I should go get a car thermometer to check if my car is really getting that hot but even if it's not getting up to the red really, the car runs better when it's colder. It's very annoying having to constantly be checking the temp gauge to make sure it's not running too hot.
