Cold Air Induction Idea???

Ok I was readin about this cold air induction idea and ive tryed a couple things and i got this idea. Just after The MAF sensor cut the pipe then Take 2 90* Pieces of 2 1/4 inch pipe so that the intake is now pointing the other way then route pvc pipes under the raiator and to just under the front of the car. Somehow i need to get a k&n in there. I have the MAF screen removed To increase airflow and polished inside my throttle body. Ive noticed major pickups from polishing. just wanted to know what ppl think on this any extra ideas???

You know.. taking the MAF screen is a bad idea. The screen is to straighten out flow to give the computer a better reading.. i took mine out once and ruined the sensor, so im leaving the screen in from now on.

well greame did you touch the metal tubes in the sensor? thats what blows em out. You can remove the screen and get more flow through the sensor and yes it will pick up the extra flow.

I removed the screen, didn't really notice a difference, oh and I had an old busted MAF to practice on, just use a pair of needle-nose pliers.

Whenever I yank my screen my car simply can't get a good reading off the MAF.. mileage goes to hell and she stalls when stopped in gear (and she *never* stalls normally).. most people don't seem to get this problem, but it happens.
