Scrap yard run?

I'm going to be making a scrap yard run for sevral parts and have a few questions.

Fuel injectors.

Which one off of which cars can i use.

Sway bars.

Are they prety much interchangable? Which cars have the larger bars?

Intake.

I'm going to be doing the dual ram air mod, but have one question. When it begins to rain will it suck up water through the intake? i will be cutting off the bottom of the boxes inorder to all more air flow. i might even make soom scoops for them. If I have to remove it in the winter and put my stock one on I will do that until I find a better solution.

Thanks for the help!!!!

Apparently you can use any 2.8/3.1 injectors. I would've said "F-body only"- those are Bosch injectors. However, Karl said during his 3.4 swap, he used the 3.4 injectors. Those are the newer "Multec" style; and can be found on the front-wheel-drive 2.8 & 3.1 MPFI cars, such as the Beretta, Oldmobile Ciera, Buick Century, etc. The Multec's are a better design. You could probably also use a larger engine's injectors (like a TPI V8), but they'll flow more, and they might flow "too much". There was a discussion on this board a while ago about higher-flow-rate injectors. You might want to buy the injectors, and send them off to Rich J at http://www.cruzinperformance.com for a cleaning.

All sway bars are interchangable. You didn't give the year of your car, but, the largest bars were 36mm's. You can find those on IROC's and other WS6-coded cars (look for a Performance Suspension badge on the Firebirds). The earlier cars (82-84) had solid front bars; meaning, they're a smaller diameter, but solid instead of hollow. I think the largest front solid bar was 30mm. I'm betting you have the same front bar that I do- the hollow 34mm bar. This is basically the same as the solid 30mm bar, so it's not worth swapping. If you find the IROC front bar, go for it. Otherwise, you'd be better spending your money by replacing the old rubber bushings with poly bushings. I did this recently on my car; my original rubber bushings were so worn out that the centers went from a circle to an oval!! I have some part numbers here for you: https://www.thirdgen.org/messgboard/...ML/002269.html My 34mm front bushings were only $12.50 from Summit!

Keep in mind that end links usually rust together, since the center bolt runs through a metal sleeve. You might need a hacksaw to cut the junkyard's end links in half. With my poly end links, I coat the center bolt with anti-sieze, hopefully that will keep the center bolt from ever rusting to the metal sleeve.

Tom,

Darn I was going to put the year, but I was a bit sleepy when I posted that one. For the record it is a 1992 Camaro RS 3.1L.

I was looking at my front sway bar and it is prety large, but I didn't mesure it. the rear is prety thin though.

i was planing on picking up the injectors as cheap as possible and sending them out to Crurzin to get them cleaned. I'm in the beging stages of buidling my RS up and thought that it would be a good start.

Brain,

Wonder bar? i never heard of it. what does it do??
