2.8/3.1L cam. curiosity....
Just woundering... what results will a decent cam on these motors do?? such as a .440 lift on exhaust and intake.. and a duration of 260???? Is that to radical without a tune?? Is it worth investing in and if so will comp need to be tuned... thanks for any info... because i was just thinking that someone on here had to have put one on a 2.8 or 3.1 before...

get the delta cams 260 cam its perfect for turbocharging and no its not hard to tune for

Where from?? Summit?? If the cam doesnt come with springs.. does anyone know off hand what size springs are on our V6's? One time i put a cam into a mustang and didnt replace the springs and wow did it miss alot when over 4k rpms at a load. so if i would do this i know i need it all. While im talking about this if i dont do the hybrid swap and decide to just port the intake side of the heads and polish the exhaust side.. would this even get close to the flow of the aluminum heads>

ca, and lifter set is 110 bucks from delta yes thats the right place dosent come with springs for another 75 bucksd order comp cams springs/retiners and locks from summit

ahh sorry i didnt read your post so well....well i think i may try and put this megasquirt in next weekend and try to figue out a stock tune. I almost have all the turbo stuff but wana do that this fall. Mabey ill see a little gain from a tune at the 1/4 mile track... i go basically every weekend..

if u get stuck on the installlet me know, its pretty simple since the harness is labeled. ur best bet is to completly remove the stock harness and replace it.
i find this the neatest option and the easiest.
another option is to get the factory ecm pinout and just tap into the stock harness, just unplug it from the ecm and tap into the wires u need
the last option is a plug and play adapter from diyautotune. u would have to move a few wires since its for the tpi cars but u wouldnt have to do any real wiring

well i hope the install goes well.. im gonna attempt it tonight/tommorow.. i plan on going with the plan of removing the old harness and replace it.. Rubberducky.. did you mean you expect to see 16.5 for my car??? well if i can get that ill be happy. 2 tenths of a drop in the 1/4 is definetly a great gain with jsut a tune...

You can run the cam without a tune, though a tune will help you get the most out of that cam. The two combined will probably get you .2-.5, the heads on these motors are the biggest restriction.

yea i know the head flow is crap.exspecially on the exhaust side.soon as i get to 4500 rpm the car drags ***. sure wish gm would have put the aluminum ones on our cars..but at least they put a decent rear end ratio in the v6's
