I hate those accel wires. I think they are total crap. Ive been looking into the mallory pro wires for the 2.8 with carbon core for 30 bucks from PAW.

Wayne, did you look inside the boot? Sometimes, inside the boot for the distributor cap end, the wire can twist. The terminal will point sideways a bit, and prevent itself from snapping onto the cap. If the terminal -is- straight (inside the boot), you might try crimping it a bit (through the outside of the boot) with -clean- pliers.

And if that fails, go back to the store, and argue. Try another store (if it was a chain like Pep Boys). See if you can get them to just switch the bad wire for a good wire. And finally, call Accel themselves and complain.

Wayne, let's get real. It sounds like you were sold the wrong accel part for your application. How else would you know it wouldn't fit unless you put it on the car?
I have enjoyed accel performance parts since the late 70's. The stuff is great.
I can't say that enough.
I would suggest you go back, find the STORE MANAGER and tell him your story. Still have the receipt?
I have accel parts for all 5 of my rides.
IF they made the parts for my Motorcycle, I'd use it too.
