Help with my SES light.. and Tachometer
I recently got my car back from the garage for the SES light coming on. When they put it on the computer it said it had something to do with the EGR. I just put a new egr on it before the summer. The light has been coming on since before then. Either way they said there's nothing they could do.. and to take it to GM. I've had it to a few garages now and have had the same results. Any idea's? A few people have told me it might be because of the gas tank cover.. or a vaccum leak. The car is a 91 RS.. 3.1.. automatic..
They also couldn't solve the problem in my tach.. it's showing that it's revving really high. But I had the tranny tested and it's revving fine. Any one have any idea's on that? I'm thinking of buying a new tach for the car.. But I don't want to buy one if I don't need a new one.

Does it rev High, or does the tach just jump eradically?
If eradically, I had the same problem turns out the wire(that runs to the tach) was broke before the plug under the hood near the EGR valve... so I put in a new section of wire and hooked it back up and never had the eradica tach readings again...
Justa thought...
