4th gen rear
4th gen rear
I might have to change my fuel pump this weekend, and I don't want to cut the crud out of my car. So when I pull out my rear to get to my pump, I'm thinkin about just my rear totally. About how much time does that take? Is it probably gonna be somethin I don't want to mess w/? Your thoughts......

I'm not sure what you're asking... do you mean you have a 4th gen rear already, and want to know how long a fuel pump swap is? Or do you want to put a 4th gen rear in? Why do you want the 4th gen rear? For disc brakes, or to get a lower gear ratio?
Replace the 3 non-pressurized fuel hoses while you're back there... one is the fuel return line, one's the fuel vent line (goes to plastic vent), and one goes to the charcoal canister. It'd be a great idea to replace the pressurized one, too- but it's $35 and only thru special order. You won't have it by the weekend. (I wanted to change mine, called about it Friday, and found out it would take a week to come in- damn.)

I have access to a fourth gen rear.-the reasons are pretty much what you said-gears, brakes-plus I have some 17x9 ZR-1 SS style rims waiting to be put on my car. With the 4th gen rear, think it'll look better(having the disk brakes and all-plus it'll swap right up w/ no adapters-so I'm told)
Correct they take no adapters. Direct bolt in. But you DO HAVE TO USE 93-UP RIMS on the back. and you will have to buy the spacers for the front so you do not look like an idiot for your wheels being different. You do not need to "drop" the rear end to get the tank out. All I did was raise the hell outta the rear of the car to let the suspension go to full bottom out then removed the sway, and pan hard bars. Tank dropped like a rock when straps came off and with a slight tug. And yes it was empty.
