Hi guys, my car sometimes dont start, it cranks, i heard the fuel pump, Im getting code 46. When i turn the key to the ON position, the security lights turns off after 2 seconds. Actually is a 92 Firebird.

You should measure the resistance of the key pellet and then check to see if it's in spec for what should be your key code. Code 46 means a VATS issue, and the car won't start if there is no fuel injector enable signal (which causes the code 46). If the key is out of spec, you can get a blank cheap from eBay or somewhere and have your original copied, or you can go to a dealer and spend some more money... Or you can go the long, hard, expensive route and invest in the tools and time to take apart the steering column and replace the key cylinder, OR, you can get a bypass module or resistor and put it in place of the key cylinder wire under the dash.
