not much, keep it on until you change the cat, then you shouldn't need it with the better cat design.

I have heard alot of people that has said that they have gutted their cat.Does this actually mean that they removed it?Is this something i might wanna do?Or possibly maybe install a more free flowing cat?...Trying to make small improvements to an over all great engine.Anyones advice will be truly noted and Thanx in advance...

Gutting the cat means removing the "guts" of it and putting in a pipe thru the shell of the cat. This gives the appearance of having a cat.

I would recommend using a high flow cat. The gains are the same and the high flow one will help the environment(a little anyway)

You probably lose 3-4 Hp from the smog pump... not really worth disconnecting. But gutting the cat can be a simple mod until you can replace it with a high flow. My cat has been gutted, but it doesn't have a pipe through it. It makes a real good rumble @ WOT inside the cabin, you might want to do it just to see what it sounds like. I would suggest running a cat though, I'm just waiting til I have the money for a cat-back.
