One of my fellow "*****" friends just bought a car off of eBay.Check this out..89 Camaro RS,V6,Automatic,T-tops,50K miles, white with burgandy/maroon interior, new headliner and console,16in IROC rims, alarm, new muffler, tires, brakes, battery.Guess how much?.....$610!!!!!..thats right $610!!!!!...BUT, it does not have a tranny..so in order to have this post not locked and to add some tech, what type of tranny should he get for the car?and as soon as he gets it,he will be coming aboard on this site.Hope yall give him a big welcome and congratulate him for choosing one of the best cars around(3rd gen)Thanx.

Yea I hear ya MOnkie. When I was with that one girl who had the 30th Anniv Camaro like yours and her mom had the LT-4 Collectors edition corvette both with 6-speeds, I found myself trying to find 6th in my freaking Escort.
What he has to consider is this if its an automatic car putting a stick shift in will require some work.
So if its an auto car he should goto the local junk yard find a V6 F-body and buy that tranny, then have it rebuilt by a shop, and have it built bullit proof with a shift kit and a higer stall converter.
No if it was already a stick shift, it wont be to hard to get a 6-speed in it and I would say have him get a 6-speed instead of the 5-speed. It would be exceptionally cool to show all his "*****" friends his nice 6-speed V6. Thats right up ther alley right?

Im going to pretend you didn't say that. You must remember Kyle that in the manual trannies the gear ratio is 3.42. So at 55mph you could use a 6th gear. As far as an auto. Eww, manual would make you MUCH happier. NO real sports car has an automatic in it. Isn't that right Kyle?

He knows I was messin with him. He has one awsome sports car (you cant say that thing isn't a sports car!) AND an awsome muscle car.

Edit: I dunno if I would totally call it a muscle car. Thought it may have muscle it just doesn't sound like one.
