i think he means swapping a V8 tpi for a v6 in an 89 RS

what he wants to know is the wiring, not the auxillaury stuff that needs to be done

dont read so far into things guys

How I miss those back east aerodymanic modifications by the Deer at night time.
I wasn't sure what was meant, either (mpfi to tpi).
Common sense would say the majority of the swap is easy. BUT check the fuel pressure on the TPI unit and put in a regulator. MPFI use atleast 50lbs fuel pressure.
Use the suspension springs from the V-8 car for the extra weight and handling benefits.

Yes, I have heard about gauge cluster changes and tearing out the dash bla bla bla. What actually needs to be done? I have ideas because of reading posts but i can't sum it all up. Does anyone have experance in this and tell me just about the FI swap, yes i would be puting a V8TPI in a MPFI RS.

I'll tell ya how I looked at my 2.8-3.4 swap.
I opened up my hood, and made the "new" engine bay look exactly like my current 2.8 ride.
All you have to visualize is to make the V-6 engine bay look like the wrecked V-8 engine bay.
It's that simple.
Keep this thought at all times.
Now start working on the cars and you'll see what goes where.

Sorry, just the talk of visualization for engine swapping.

You're pretty much moving everything, so stop asking here, and go empty your engine bay. Like everything, wiring, engine, all of it. When it looks like it rolled off the assembly line without an engine, then worry about what to do next.

Good point! Just take a polaroid or two of how the wiring harnesses are routed along the frame rails; and where they bolt down to the frame, etc... I never did that for my Firebird, and wires are still in the wrong spots.
