DOES ANY KNOW WHERE I CAN GET A 2.8L CARB?!!?

I currently have an S10 noncomputer controlled carb on my car and it's running really bad, very choppy. At autozone they are $400. What the heck?!? And please don't tell me junk yard. Also, don't tell me to get the Edelbrock intake and small 4 barrel (although if any of you is selling that tell me ) Or, does anyone have one I can buy off them? Thanks.

Did you check ebay?
I dont know why the Azone one would be so expensive are you sure they quoted your correctly? I'll do some checking and edit this post later.

EDIT: What a rip off! If I were you I would swap an s10 distrubutor in and eliminate the computer. Does the s10 carb have the Mixture controll plug in on it?
What happend to your old carb?

I know right?!!? 400 freakin' dollars! I called them 3 times in 2 days with 3 different people answering to make sure. It is! I'll check ebay. I bought the car for $600 and he told me the check engine light was on because it's a s10 carb, but it ran fine. Now, I know the problem! It's that dang carb! I'll call the old owner and ask if he still has the carb, I doubt it though. I'll check ebay right now. THanks.

Why don't you just rebuild the carb.

Open up the phone book to start visiting wrecking yards.
Then ya buy it
Then ya rebuild it
Ya probably be close to the $400.
Sad, but, quite possible.

Why are the 2.8 engines so crappy? I mean, I don't have much options here. I'll try the junk yards and stick with the stock distributor and stock carb. Next 'bird I'm getting is Fuel Injected!!

Here, try this place in downtown LA.
M & M carb
213-748-7261
I've been dealing with them since 1982
They may have a MORE INEXPENSIVE option.
You have a great foundtion to install an easy V-8 swap.
Nothing to deal with but an engine & car.
Find a wreck and do the swap.
Same dollars & effort, better results.

502, your best cheapest way out is to install a vac advance distributor from a S10. Its around $40 used and takes 20 min to install. Once that $40 piece is in place then you can get your carb rebuilt, so your looking around $240 vrs $400. Im not 100% on this but I think some of the old station wagon 4 bangers had a cc carb. I know its the same as the carb for thge 2.8 but it might have different linkage, it's not a problem if you have a standard.
Just a thought.

I had a friend with an '83 Camaro; his carb went bad, so I got him a junkyard carb for $35. We swapped it on, and he drove around on it for a bit until he had the cash to get it rebuilt. He found a local carb guy, and it cost him around $50 or $60 to have it rebuilt. The guy was an old pro, though... he had trouble finding someone that wanted to do the job, and he wound up finding the "best".

The E2SE isn't as complicated as the E4ME, in fact, my Haynes 82-92 gives a step-by-step, photo-by-photo rebuild of that 2bbl carb.

Have you phoned M & M carb in LA?
They probably have one & it'll be about $100 already rebuilt.
Don't tell them you have the non computer controlled carb for the "exchange".
Just do a mail order.

Hey, Thanks a lot. Do you they have a website address? I would rather not call CA, you know how that goes. I will if I have to though.
