$hity.
Honest.
Don't do this, unless you wail the engine to 6,000 rpm all the time.
Lots of great exhaust suggestions here.
Mine is to replace your "Y" pipe with one from Edelbrock, for their HiPo V-8 systems.
Get a CC from Don's Hot Rod (800-888-8892 a PFP 2 1/2" in & out), mate that to your current intermediate pipe (or go get a V-8 one from the yard, that pipe is 1/2" bigger!), install a muffler to your tone & performance liking. For more power, port & polish your exhaust manifolds. You'll gain about 20 solid HP thru out the entire RPM range.
UNFORTUATLY (real bummer, too!) headers are not EPA legal or I'd have some on mine, too.

Karl is right ! Our cars also need backpressure .There are not to many cars out there that do benefit from true duals . I dont even thing mustangs do .You have to have a really big engine like a 502 or something , to benefit .Thats when you have enough exhaust to use true duals .
