Code 32-EGR again

I was just wondering if it's possible to completly take off the EGR valve and give it a good cleaning would it cure the problem of my car stalling when it's warm. The other day I was getting off the highway doing about 40mph on a turn when it suddenly died on me I almost went off the road luckily my emergency brakes work (almost pooed in my pants) It's also embarresing stalling in city traffic.
