What exactly do to the MSD 'boxes' do?

Do they replce the ignition module?

If not, what the h*ll do they do?

I mean... like... what?

What's the point of laying down 160 on one?

it creates a hotter spark, with more power going to the plug and for a long duration. Basically, better mileage, faster starting, more power (i noticed it after i took it off when it had been installed for 5 months) it gave me snappier shifts (more power after i shifted) etc. I think its worth it.. i personally am going to go with a digital 6 though.

Its all controlled by a digital micro processor, has a built in electronic rev limiter etc. It also has built in surge protection, has led's to show if its hooked up properly and functioning correctly, etc. but, its an extra 150 from an msd 6al
