OK, I've been doing a lot of work to this car for the past few months. I've had it running well a few times but I still have these issues. Starts are tough, takes 3+ tries to get started. Runs rich. Shifts hard.

Unplugged the IAC and it kept running. And well! except for the low idle. So I swapped it today. The old one was black and caked with carbon. I just cleaned it about a month ago and have hardly driven it.

Now runs a little better but still seems like I need to play with the gas pedal to find the "sweet spot".

Any ideas on what caused my iac to get all fouled? someone told me that I still have a vacuum leak (dunno where I thought I got them all) and that I need a new egr valve. I guess those are next.

 

You've got to start with good injectors.
