Just wanted to say thanks
Hey all, first time poster, long time lurker. I bought a 1990 RS a couple years ago for $800, and ever since then I had nothing but problems with it. It died at stoplights due to a very rough idle, intermittent starting, stalled quite a bit; your quintessential third gen nightmare.
Now when I bought it, I didn't know the first thing about working on camaros, so trying to get it back in good shape seemed rather daunting. However, once I came across these boards, that changed. This past week I finally got my RS back on the road, running better than it ever has.
As it turns out, the problem was actually a couple different ones occuring at the same time. The rough idle was a combination of fouled spark plugs and the timing being off, and the stalling/starting problems were the result of a weak fuel injector that eventually failed completely and prevented the car from starting at all.
I owe a huge debt of gratitude to everyone on this board who has ever taken time out of their day and tried to help complete strangers with their car problems. Had I not found this website, I highly doubt my camaro would be running right now. You guys rock, and I sincerely thank you.
