3.4 mods

I want to do the 3.4 swap, and would like to know if compcams or crane roller rockers fit the 3.4. Or any other sugestions for mods, it would be nice to do it before i put the engine in. i found a 3.4 in the junk yard with 76,000 miles on it, just have to come up with a price for it, anyone know what its worth? i read ked85s post on the swap boogie and i'm ready to go for it, thanks

I paid $800 for my 40K motor.
That motor is due for a rebuild, real soon.
Let that guide you.
IF you take it, rebuild the heads.
New valve guides will do wonders.
Bottom end, you may get away with no problems, depending on how hard you beat on it.
Reality.
Lotta work for "that" motor.
Keep looking.
The "idea" is to spend the effort (swap), without doing a rebuild (of 3.4 running engine), too!

THAT is a WISE suggestion, too!
I'd wave $1300 CASH infront of the closest GM part counter person you have & say, "Want some money today"?
Make sure you get a receipt & date of delivery!
That's a wise suggestion.

thanks for the replies, i've been thinking about this project over for a long time, the new engine route makes since if i would have to spend money on a junk yard engine anyway. the gm 3.4 which one? they list the HO replacement and a F-body replacement thats new for 1600.00? people think i'm nuts for spending money on a 1987 car, but i already have 3,000 into a 500.00 car! thats just parts and all the labor done by me.

Go get the GM Performance parts catalog.
ALL your questions are answered within those pages.
Honest.
AND it's a VERY WISE CHEAP INVESTMENT (pub is $6!)
