2.8l wont start!!!!

Alright guys, here I am back again with another problem. I recently changed upper intake manifold gaskets on my car and I painted the upper intake manifold. Well ever since I changed the gaskets the car wont start at all. It will pop a couple times but nothing. I have everything hooked up right and dont beleive i damaged anything when doing the gasket swap. Can anyone tell me what might be wrong? I did unplug the throttle body sesnors and maf sesnor.

Re: 2.8l wont start!!!!

yeah, sure sounds like something didn't get hooked up right. so many options, including a crack in a vacuum line, though I don't think that would prevent it from starting.

the good news is, I bet it's something simple. The bad news is, it's really hard to diagnose what's wrong over the internet. maybe take lots of pics from every angle?

I know man. if it ran for a second and shut off I would say double check the brake booster vacuum. If it just pops and never catches.... I just don't know.

Re: 2.8l wont start!!!!

Im trying to think of all the things you would have to take off, throttle body, kick down cable..exc but could leave the cables on the TB and any senors(maters what you wanted to take off, IAC sensor clip, egr, 2 vaccum lines in back of the upper plentum(for a 2.8L)...well you could literly take it all back off and start over. Be thankful thats just a 30 minuet job to take apart and put back together.

When i know i have a problem and its usually a little problem, i take what i just assembled and take it back apart and look it over carfully as i put it back together again.

Re: 2.8l wont start!!!!

I know I'm going to be hated on a lot for this but it actually turns out my spark plugs some how got fouled out and needed replaced. i checked everything finally I pulled out a plug and it was soaked in gas so I replaced all 6 plugs and it fired right up. Sounds like new now. Sorry for the dumb question.

All 6 of them went from being fine before you took off your intake to car wouldn't ever come close to starting afterwards?

I believe, I forgot to plug in the mass air flow sensor and I believe thats what fouled them out! Now correct me if I'm wrong but wouldn't that do that.
