Re: now what in the hell could i be doing with these???
once i pick up my new motor ill be able to build a set of headers, though i havent done any for an s10pu/blazer so u would have to take a bunch of measurements for me,then again ur pretty damn close by i could always come down or have u come up and then just build them on the truck

its 230 miles to lv from were i am so about a 3 hour drive, hell if u have more room then its not an issue, the current headers i built for my v6 i built on an engine stand without measureing anything, and they cleared everything in the f-body

Re: now what in the hell could i be doing with these???
Cam and pushrods : 450$
Valve Springs : 150$
mounts / cut Kframe : free (2 hours labour)
maked TB adapter plate / 65mm Aurora TB :45$
But the stock 3500 with roller valvetrain and better oiling, forged steel crank, better heads, ect ect is a VERY good choice for the money. I still use stock headbolts and gaskets and **** so I saved a ton of $ there.
I'll show you next summer. I removed about 250 pounds out of the car and with a couple more PSI it'll go 10's for sure.
Not bad for 895$ + turbo parts... But you can pretty much say the motor is worth 895$.
Hell you can run up almost that in machine work alone if you were building a motor....
lol, so you can fab up turbo systems but notching the K member and building 2 motor mounts is too hard?

2 different ways to do the same thing really
3.4 150 bucks
cam lifters 100 bucks
50 bucks for springs
put a few hours in the heads =free
bolt on turbo system and run 12's @ 9psi (with supporting mods of course i.e driveline and suspension))
ive run my motor just as high if not higher then the guys with the fwd blocks with the better oiling systems and ive never had an issue, 8,500 rpms with modified hyd flat tappet lifters
besdies the roller cam i see no need to goto a fwd block just yet(even with the better oiling system, a simple 25 cent mod to the rwd oil pump and ive never had any oiling issues)
besides the fact i do not like dis systems for the sole reason i cannot run my antilag on them

Re: now what in the hell could i be doing with these???
not syaing u wasted any money its just 2 different ways of doing the same thing ( going fast) i never hit a brick wall with the iron headed 3.1, i just had no time for it, hell twards the end there i was taking it out what once every 8 months, after the dyno it sat for a long time till i fixed the ignition then it went out and ran low 12's still needing to be tunned better, and its since sat ever since
i just dont see the need to do all the work u need to do to use a fwd block,if done right they dont have oiling issues at high rpm and there plenty strong enough and u can still use whatever topend u like on them.
the only thing u cant do is the roller cam, though blc actually has a roller cammed 3.4 rwd block
do i need to put pistons or anything in a jy shortblock hell no, the 40k mile 3.1 in my car only got new pistons cause i had them, and there even just replacement pistons nothing special
