2.8 idle and hesitation
So i got this car around april of last year and it has been sitting in my backyard. Ive been repairing it little by little. I noticed when i turn it on it it idles at about 1500 to 2000 rpm and stays that high for about ten minutes, also when i hit the gas pedal it hesitates and takes a second to rev up. Any ideas of what could be my problem? Any help is appreciated.

Re: 2.8 idle and hesitation
check the timeing and IAC. the IAC have been known to be the answer in this problem. this also could be due to a vacume leak.

Re: 2.8 idle and hesitation
The hesitation sounds like a faulty accelerator pump to me.

Re: 2.8 idle and hesitation
I would check the tps and the throttle position because mine would idle around 1450 when it was warm and i found out the screw that stops the throttle from bottoming out was screwed all the way out and reset it to a length that would keep a stable rpm with all my accessories running. If that checks out good check the vacuum lines.
