car wont start

car wont start

i am getting no spark at the plugs so i checked the coil and no spark there either. my question is what should i check before i buy a new one?

make sure the coil is getting power with the key on

check coil wire close for signs someone used a quick connect for a tach, they will cut the wires over time and kill power.
had only 3 strands left when I found mine to be the problem.

How would I check for power? I put a light tester on the thing that the plug wire goes onto that goes to the cap. Had no light and even tested the light afterwards incase I blew the light but it still worked

Just replaced the coil and still no spark. I got power going to the coil. Thinking next step is the module. Anyone else with ideas to check? Thank you. Need to get it running ASAP. When I tested for power I had power at one wire but not the other even tho its on the same connection. Is that correct or do I need power from both wires?
