A/C hookup question

the A/C line in my car has been unhooked for years. i'm thinking on hooking up the hoses so i can get it running again, but the hoses have been off for so long that there is alot of dust and dirt inside the system. should this be a problem or is there a special way to clean out the system?

Re: A/C hookup question

You'll have to have it flushed and replace the orifice tube and accumulator.

How do you flush it out? Or is that a job I should have a professional do?

Nothing you couldn't do if you got your hands on the tools, but just let a shop do it.
