a/f ratio gauge problem.

So installed a new a/f ratio gauge because the old one didn't match the color scheme.
Anyways I installed the new gauge the EXACT same way as the old one, but it doesn't work . It lights up but won't register, the vacuum gauge works great.
It's grounded right, so I'm like WTH???
I know my third gen family would know. I'm stumped.

On a side note, my ECM is #7-7730
and the calibration code is 1201MT
does the MT stand for manual transmission?
my car is automatic. Would that effect the car? And is this the best computer for my 3.1?
I know there are a few different ECMs out there and some are better than others. Just wondering.
