bosch platinum gap question

before every one starts telling me how much they suck. i already know.... but i already bought them and cant return them..

my question is do these come pre-gaped? the heads were covered with a cardboard cylinder and they were all gapped at about 0.48 but the box says to gap them at 0.44. i dont really know if my gap gauge is off or not (got it from wallmart) i tried closing the gap to the 0.44 like the box said but it was pretty hard. so i just put them in at the 0.48.

Has any1 got these before? or any1 know about this?

Re: bosch platinum gap question

As far as I know all platinum plugs are pregapped and should not be "re"gapped. I thought it was because the platinum is breakable but someone else might chime in to explain or correct me if I am wrong.

Re: bosch platinum gap question

I'm running them in my '82, I did not re-gap them, and they also measured around 0.47.

They've been working fine so far, better than the stock AC-Delco's I pulled out with only 4200 miles on them.
