4.3 H.O. Geeks inside
Got ahold of a DD for a buddy its a 93 has the 4.3 H.O. (what the window sticker says anyway). 93 S10 Tahoe LT
Has high miles
Thinking of a poor mans weekend rebuild, its for his 16 yr old kid, first car.
Lets say I added a little better valvespring 1.6 stamped/roller tip rockers
Ported the stock heads left the small valves, along with porting of the intake
Maybe a better flowing catback thats about it.
Has to be Ca smog legal.
Wondering if anyones done the same * what they have gained.
I could tell you on a SBC all day long but havent done the V6 yet sure its different. Just looking for a nice bump in torque. Might sneak a holeshot type converter in there as it comes with a rebuilt 700r (trans on this ones toast).
Everything else will remain stock unless someone makes a shorty CARB EO header which I doubt.

Yeah its all factory stock came with that motor
Will be his first car just a DD. 3.42 gear
Just looking to pick up some oomph some its really really.....slow lol
Probably still will be hopefully just not as bad.
Something to whet the kids appetite for motors, working on stuff. That type of thing.

Thanks Ill do some reading up over there.
Thought it would be fun to play with something different and see what can be had on the cheap from one. Im guessing could run at least as good as a small V8 is done right.
