Took the car to the gym 3 times last week and got 200$ of groceries with it on Wednesday, it's very streetable. Pulled off this run on Sunday. Gets good mileage, around 26 MPG in town.

3.27 gear

Pic of new car, 87 IROCZ with the 350 tpi and 700R4 removed in favour of my turbo LX9 TH350 combo.

I think it's a little bit more powerful then the 5.7L. and gets better mileage...

Re: New PB 3.5L camaro

14-16 psi, around there.

meth inj.

TH350 3 spd.

For the final run in the class I was racing some RHD Toyota car, The name started with a S, I wanna say it was a Solaro or soemthing like that ? lol... either way they put a GoPro on our cars for that run, they should post them vids soon.

I ran a 11.56.
and he went to quick with an 11.34.

It was a heads up 11.50 class.

11.13 @ 130-mph trap speed with 15-psi? What RPM were you seeing in 3rd gear at the finish...?

Re: New PB 3.5L camaro

I shift into 3rd gear around 105.

26" tall tire and 3.27 gear puts me around 5500 RPM that seems about right.

I need my 3.73's back...

That's very impressive for 15-psi, that trap has low ten second potential. Nice job...

how are u not getting boost on the line with a 5k converter?
or are u still using that converter u got for free, if so i imagine its only stalling to about 2,700-3,100 off boost

Re: New PB 3.5L camaro

BBC 454 torque converter. haha.

It stalls at 3100 and it won't spool that low, but once it spools and makes power it stalls at 5000... I kinda like this because in town driving the converter stays locked (ish) at low RPM.

I got my 2 step yesterday, installing tomorrow probably.

This car would be scary fast with a brake.

Re: New PB 3.5L camaro

u might still have issues with the 2 step, id set it to 3k and got wot and see if it builds boost.

my feeling is u will need around 36-3800 rpm on the 2 step to build boost though

id ur 2 step adjustable with a ****? if so if u put it near the driver seat u can slowly adjust the rpm up as the turbo starts to spool.

other then that a spark cut while on the 2 step will work great

Re: New PB 3.5L camaro

Well I got the 2 step installed.

Results :

Stalls way too low as I feared. I can set it to 2500 and it's good, builds maybe 2 psi.

If I set it any higher it spins the tire. (s) I still have the stock IROC rear diff which will spin only one tire 95% of the time.

I'm thinking MAYBE once I get a spooled rear end it will be able to hold more cause it will have to spin both wheels not just the one... If that can get me 600-800 RPM And I can get around 3200 I'd be very happy. It builds 5 pounds there cause I tested it in park. and it sounds fantastic at 3200 also, 2500 not soo much.

So, either way it's not a waste of money cause I now have only one pedal to mess around with at the tree for more consistent launches instead of both gas and brake / looking at the tach.

The hot ticket would be 2 step at 5500RPM with a trans brake... Maybe in time...

OR redo the stall to something that will work with a V6 a little better.

Re: New PB 3.5L camaro

disc or drums brakes in the rear??

if u have drums pull the ebrake on the line while standing on the brakes

doing this in my car i can go wot and hold the car, it will not move at all
the key lies in the burnout if u have to brake stand it to do the burnout u get the rear drums red hot and they wont hold. this is were a linelock on the front comes into play

if u can get it to lock the tires like that u will be set

Yup, I will try that out spring thing out soon. (Thanks Dave)

I also have my 3.73 10 bolt rear drum that I can borrow out of my parts car. It is mini spooled... BUT I think it would be wise to run a Cclip elim. on that before I goto the track with it.

i ran mine with a welded diff ( mini spool) down to low 1.7 60's and i never broke it. i did come close at one point and twisted the axles bad enough were the wheels would wobble. though the twisting came mostly from all the street driving i did. it wasnt uncommon for me to put 4k miles or more on the car in a month at the time. i used to drive my v6 car everywere including 2 140mile round trips every weekend to drive down to the shore on fridays and then go back on saturdays

so u might just be fine but its cheap insurance that u dont wreck the car.
besdies at those speeds i do belive they are required anyways when running sticky tires

Re: New PB 3.5L camaro

Yeahhhh I think my axles are a little wobbly on my 10 bolt too now that I think of it.

I have spares though.

I will try the spring first, see how it goes. I will post me results, If I can get to 5 psi @ 3200 RPM like I tested it would work very well I think.

I guess I better get a line lock too. Ahh damn.

4:01 is my car. I ran an 11.56 on a 11.50 index race, the other lane broke out. This was low boost, around 9 psi.

You see here what I mean by a soft launch. haha.

The full complete build is here :

http://www.v6z24.com/jbodyforum/also-growing-a-******-t112374.html

Lets see.

Pages 1-12 is the first 3400 engine and starting at page 12 you'll see the T3/T4 60-1 .70 Comp and Stage III .63 turbine

Pages 13-17 is the 3500 build with headers and a 65mm turbo..

Page 21 Blew up a 3500. Installed another one...

Page 25 - now 3900 build...

hahaha replace the asterickx with m.u.l.l.e.t

it's awsome that TGO doesn't let you write that word. LMAO
