Read though the "stickys" the threads on the top of the V6 area. They should help.

Re: aftermarket parts
Well the best thing for CAI systems would just be to route the air in from the outside of the engine bay or in the fender area on the passengers side. You may just have to get creative. But whatever you do, make sure you still use the intake air temp sensor that is on your air filter can. If you need to lengthen it or anything thats fine just make sure you do a good job of splicing the wires up.
As for a cam you can go with a Delta 260 grind cam and lifters. 120 bucks or so shipped. from deltacams.com
The only thing is since your speed density a tune would really help to get as much HP as possible outta that set up with the cam, and also make it not so rich at Idle as the cam will make it a little rich.
As for exhaust headers, theres some out there but IIRC there for 2.8L Engines. But will fit your 3.1L also. For mufflers I had a dynomax one before. It worked well and it was just a universal one basically that you can order at summit or places like that. For a Cat. I had a magnaflow back in the day also. I didnt sence much of a increase in HP but it did sound better. I never had headers like that on my car so I cant speak from experience about them, and how much Hp is gained from them.

Just out of curiosity how hard was it to turbo your car? I have also been looking at that but seems very pricey

Re: aftermarket parts
on the exhaust I just got done with a 3.4l swap on mine, I'm running the pacesetter headers and a high flow cat with a magnaflow serise 40 mulfer with dual out, and the people I have had the car around can't belive its a V6( i had one guy make me pop the hood because he did not believe it was a v6), right now I'm at work but I do have a video of it and the nice thing about this set up is it dose not do the v6 pop when reving it. I can't say what it did to imporve preformance, but I know a guy I work with has a 4th gen cammaro with the same engine and I can walk away from him, and the only mods I have right now is the exhaust( haven't had the time to do the computer yet)

Re: aftermarket parts
Don't see why not, but I would check first. The only thing about the hooker muffler is it's pushed over to the driver side further, so you would have to get another tailpipe made for the passenger side to make things look nice and balanced. It also has a 3-bolt flange on the inlet. I just took a header collector and bolted it to the stock i-pipe and then the muffler bolted up. The dynomax bolts into the stock location. Which muffler are you interested in?

Re: aftermarket parts
Ratchet, you do NOT want 3" ANYTHING in the exhaust unless you're running a turbo. Yes, you may be able to jimmy up the muffler to the intermediate pipe, but the stock pipe is 2.25", for starters. Which means a couple adapters, at least. Anyways, as I was saying, the 3" exhaust will lose too much backpressure and actually hurt the engine's performance. 2.5" is optimal for our engines.
That said, sparks, just how bad is the shipping on the intermediate pipe? You could probably wrap it in bubble wrap and brown paper. Or just a P/N on it?

Re: aftermarket parts
Hey Mav..People underestimate the capability of a smaller exhaust, especially the 2-into-1. I always encourage folks to look at dyno charts to see what they can gain on a n/a motor by changing to a larger I.D. exhaust vs. even open headers. The difference is not that great. Anyway, I can't remember the part number that is on the car right now, but I can tell you that I measured it a few weeks back and the O.D. was 2.75" and the ID was 2.5". It was aftermarket, mandrel bent and I don't remember the brand. I also have another I-pipe. It's a Walker pipe, mandrel bent with the flange for the CAT cut off. It is brand new and I am pretty sure the pn. is 46669..2.5" O.D.. For the shipping, looking at the USPS site and guessing a 15# package and assuming 72" long, about $65 minimum to ship that thing. Really not worth it in my opinion. A new i-pipe is $110 or so..

Re: aftermarket parts
Well, at least I have confirmation that the 46669 IS a 2.5" pipe. I already put that on my list, but I needed to be sure on the size before I bought it. Is that crush bent (like stock) or mandrel? Unfortunately, I need the cat flange (and a cat to attach it to
).

Re: aftermarket parts
Believe it's mandrel bent, but on mine there is no flange since I cut it off. My cat is gutted out and after I get back from vacation in 2 weeks, the car is going into the exhaust shop for duals since we are going the supercharging route. Those I-pipes are pretty reasonable..Here's one for $80..

Re: aftermarket parts
It's funny how that site lists the retail price at $200. When I can go about 15 miles to Advance and get it for $120 (no shipping from warehouse to store!). Which is what I plan on doing now that I have confirmed that it's indeed 2.5" and mandrel bent.

3" will sound like crap without a turbo on that 6'er.
My 3" exhaust.
2 1/2 inch single interm. pipe and 2 1/2 dual out of the muffler will be large enough on you engine being N/A. Anymore and your just going down hill on....IMO
