im trying to figure out the value of the top end of an LB8 2.8. i would ask this in the classifieds but since im not selling or buying anything i dont think i can post it there. the engines bottem end is grenaded. and my buddys wanting it. what seems like a fair price?(full intake setup, wiring, computer, sensors) gotta keep my LB9 in my Z28 happy. the engine still runs so i know it all works. just a rod is beating the crap out of everything in the bottem end.

 

Depends if you can find a buyer. I would think you would get more by selling it piece by piece. Mabey a few hundered max by selling the stuff off individually.

 

i was thinkin everything for 250 to a friend. is that fair for both of us? he wants it for his 83.

 

A complete, good running 2.8 goes for about $100 on CL.

That's just my area, going back a month. About a year and a half ago there was a guy giving away a 3.1L. Free. He had to post it a couple of times before someone took it. I was going to, but the wife shot it down since I was still in school. :/

No one is interested in the stock boat anchors. That makes them near worthless.

 

For that price if anything goes wrong Ill just toss another one in...lol

I will agree that I got a complete engine the other month for close to that price. 104k miles and got to drive the car first.

But when you part out items on it youd be amazed at how fast you make your $$ back.
