whats the top speed for an automatic LB8(2.8) with 3.42s and its an 86

 

Like 115-120MPH.

 

The topic should be top speed on 2.8, I have an SC that will do 135 bone stock, 305

 

it depends on 2 things

1. what mods u have ...more mods not necessarily = more top end speed though

2. what rear end u have ...lower rear end ratios = slower acceleration and more top speed

 

I found a program awhile ago that would calculate stuff like 1/4, top speed, and time & distance stuff. I plugged in the hp/torque specs on a 4 speed automatic (you didn't say if you had a 5 speed) and got the following data:
0-30: 3.9 seconds
0-60: 11.7 seconds
1/4 mile: 18.6@ 76.2mph
Top Speed104 mph

Yea it sucks, but it's better than my 93 Taurus Wagon beater

cos i ran a 91 3.1 stock and it was something like 17.2~

my 89 was never stock lol ... i bought it from someone who already had some mods
