V6 Tach

Hey I'm curious how high the stock V6 tachs read.

I've got an L98 tach that reads up to 8k rpm but doesn't work; just sits at zero, so I don't know what's wrong with it. When I had a V8 it would sometimes work when the car was cold and engine was revving under 2000 rpm. I know that if I got it working I'd still have to play with some resistor IIRC to get it to be accurate with a V6.

If I can get a V6 tach that reads up to 7k I'd be happy with that. I don't need it to be super accurate but any tach is better than no tach.

Edit: I should clarify this is for an 89 cluster.

Re: V6 Tach

How's this? Cluster is for sale, BTW, and I have a good lens for it.

Also have a tach from an 85 MPH cluster available if you're looking. Still V6.
