Vacuum Line

Ive been hunting around all night through these threads. Found pretty much the same thread about 2 years ago but the pictures on the thread were deleted so i couldnt see where this particilar line went. I have an 83 Camaro with a 2.8. The line im trying to figure out where it goes starts on the intake manifold (looking from the front to the back) its on the passengers side toward the back of the manifold behind the carb. No idea where the other end goes. My daughter and i tore down the motor almost 3 years ago and i havent been able to figure out where it went since. Currently i have it plugged off and the car runs fine but i am trying to keep the car original since it was a gift from my father when he passed away and it was his thing to keep the car original (aside from rims lol). So to keep him from rolling over in his grave i havent changed the car at all except for cleaning and painting the motor and adding new valve stem seals and gaskets(which is really all it needed since it only has 90,000 original miles). He bought the car in 85 and it still has the original paint and the interior is perfect. Aside from a few dings in the door(which is getting PDR this summer) it is in great shape. Id like to try to get this vacuum fixed before i take it on its first on the street drive since 2000. If anyone could take pictures of both ends of this line and possibly the routing of it i would really appreciate it. Thanks.

Re: Vacuum Line

If you pick up a Chilton's manual, it has some vacuum diagrams in it that might help. I bought my factory service manuals off of eBay for a very reasonable price, and I suggest you do that too. Especially if you intend to keep the car.

Re: Vacuum Line

Yeah i have the chiltons and haynes manuals for it. Cant find this line in either of them. Stopped at the dealer locally here and they had no idea either. The vacuum line sticker isnt much help either. I have plenty of expirience with cars so i cant believe i cant figure this one out. Weve had the car in the family for the last 28 years so yeah its not going anywhere for a long time
