87 Firebird Noise

When the car is cold and when I go 45mph or faster I'm hearing a loud noise a mechanic said that it sounds like the air pump. After about 15 min. of driving it goes away. Replaced the air pump 2 years ago. Is there a way to bypass the pump? Not sure what to do.

Yes you can remove it and plug the air line. Then you would have to get a different serpentine belt and reroute the belt.
