Re: First Build
Im not sure. But for for the gains if I was you I would just get some 1.6:1 roller tip rockers and leave it at that. Something such as this.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Comp-Cams-MAGNUM-ROLLER-ROCKERS-CS-1-6-10MM-1414-12-/370584135983?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item564889292f&vxp=mtr
There is so many different types out there and brands but it gives you a idea on what will work.

Re: First Build
The best way to tell would be buy a pushrod length checker. That way you know exactly what length you need instead of just being in the ballpark. They're only $20 or so on Summit.

Re: First Build
This should be them for ya. A tad more then the ones I got but I was getting 30 overs for a 3100 gen 3.
L32 S code is a 1993-1995 3.4L Iron headed F-body.
http://www.summitracing.com/parts/sl...make/chevrolet
Open up that link and make sure that those are .030 overs. Im not accustom to the bore of a 3.4L. Add .030 to the standard bore and make sure I got the right ones up there for ya.

Well was heading home from work today o n the highway and a bunch of black smoke and sparks shot out my exhaust and she won't start. An omen to replace the engine or could this be an easy fix?

Re: First Build
That's no good. Check the oil level, look in the ex pipe for oil. Could just be a timing issue though.
I had the reluctor come apart on my dizzy when I was coming out of the burn out box last summer at the track. It backfired so bad and ran like crap. Now just imagine doing that reving the car at 5k with the line lock on and then when you let off the line lock it does that. Literally flames where shooting out.... so it may be something like that or related.
Does it idle well?

Re: First Build
dang. check the timing if you can. Have some one cranking it over and check it at the same time. Also remove the cap and look over the rotor and such for anything that doesnt look right.

Re: First Build
bought the magnum 1.6 roller tip rockers and high energy push rods last night so expecting them within the next week to arrive. I'm closing in on all the parts I need only a few more that I can think of is piston, valves, and valve springs. Waiting for this weather to break so I can start the tear down of the 3.4 and then have it bored out and cleaned up. Then start the swap.

Awsome. When you get that engine back from cleaning it will look like new. I was tempted to eat off of mine just to say it i did it because it was so clean.

Re: First Build
The only things I would suggest is a wire adapter and a msd coil.
You dont have to get a wire adapter as I didnt use one but it will make it easier to unwire the box if you sell it or have to trouble shoot the ignition system.
If you dont get instruction with the box you can get them off msds website for free. Not to hard to wire it up. Here is a adapter iirc. Might want to double check the application because I dont want you to get the wrong one.

Re: First Build
You still need a good working icm for the ignition to work correctly. Its common for those puppys to go out.

Re: First Build
yeah i've been through 3 in the last 6 months..... i use a decent amount of dielectric too and it still doesn't work. I think I might have some other wiring issue. But that will all be dealt with in the next month or so when I put the new engine in

Re: First Build
got the whole MSD setup now and I want to install it on my current engine so I have a feel for where to set it up. I'm just not sure where to place the box at. I've tried a couple different spots under the hood now and nothing seems to fit/look right. Has anyone installed it in the middle of the dash under the two center vents?
