Re: hybrid setup help
I suggest more reading, it's all been spelled out pretty well in numerous threads.
The gist of it is, RWD/gen1 block, FWD pistons that match the bore of your block, genIII top end (You can use the 3500 heads on the 3.4 block), matching intake to the heads, DIS ignition, computer tuning.

+1 on what six said. Read more even when you think you have read enough.
Im going to venture into a hybrid down the road, and i have been reading up on the swaps and everything for a year, and its still not enough. Its pretty far off but im making sure i know everything about it before i try it and even then, i wont know everything there is to know about a hybrid swap. Six summed it up pretty well for you. And its a V6, if you put it together properly and tune it properly and cover all your bases, itll be plenty fuel efficient.

Re: hybrid setup help
thansk six shooter thats what ive really been trying to figure out is what will match what so if im understanding right i can take a 3.4 block with 3400 series 2 pistons put them together and then take 3500 heads and put them on the block then take the 3500 series intake and that will complete the engine mechanics i know i will have to switch it over to coil packs and have some tuning done but thankfully the company my dad works for we know ALOT of tuning shops plus since the owner knows me and has seen me grow up i get parts outta there junk yard all the time so parts and donor cars are not a problem. if i use the 3.4 block ill still be able to use my transmission correct and what gasket sets do i use the ones for the 3.4 correct?

Re: hybrid setup help
There is no 'series 2" for the 60 degree V6, That's a 3800 thing, 660s have generations.
I did forget to mention the custom pushrods that will be needed, but that's the basics.

Re: hybrid setup help
Get a 3400 FULL gasket set and save yourself the headache of having to piecemeal the gaskets together.
However, you will need the following gaskets extra:
1. RWD water pump gasket (or use RTV silicone)
2. Oil pan gasket (FWD oil pan is NOT the same as the RWD).
And I strongly recommend getting FelPro head gaskets as most of the 3x00 sets I've seen use the cheaper graphite gaskets.
At least you're starting with an engine already set up for DIS, so you have no issues there.
