Quieter Exhaust

Get off my lawn!!!

For a variety of reasons I'd like to quiet down my Firebird.

For a long time I had the flowmaster, which was loud (a plus at the time), but it didn't sound very good and had a terrible drone on the highway. About a year ago I installed a Dynomax Super Turbo. It sounds much better and the obnoxious drone went away, but it's still pretty loud. I would definitely recommend the Dynomax Super Turbo if you want an exhaust that sounds good versus simply being loud.

Anyway, I'm currently looking at the Walker Quietflow or stock replacement. Does anyone have any experience with the Quietflow? Any other recommendations?

Re: Quieter Exhaust

Never used quietflow, but I've always used Thrush turbo mufflers (both the standard and welded version) and they give good sound but aren't obnoxious.

Re: Quieter Exhaust

I would suggest adding a resonator or glasspack between the cat and the muffler. I used 2 perforated resonators in my solaras exhaust and found no difference in performance vs a straight pipe.

That's an interesting idea. I'll have to take a look underneath my car and see what could fit.

Re: Quieter Exhaust

you want it quiet, just go to any corner name brand muffler place and have them install a "stock" system.
