3.1L 92 RS Pull Engine - Best Way?
Ok, so the 3.4L is almost done so I want to go ahead and pull the 3.1L before it gets here. How easy is it to pull the engine intact? Can it be pulled and the new engine put in with the manual transmission mounted to it? What's the best location to attach a chain for pulling it?
Any and all thoughts appreciated...
Thanks....

On the 2.8 there's two steel lifting eyes on the engine, I think they're there on the 3.1 also. Just black brackets with a hole in them, one at the left/front, one at right/rear. When I helped a friend replace his seized 2.8, we pulled engine+trans at the same time. We dropped the replacement motor+trans back in that way. Just becareful of fluid spilling out the back of the trans when you pull the driveshaft out of it. Take lots of pics at different angles with your camera, you never know what you'll need to zoom in on.
And pics or it didn't happen
