Help with 2.8 IAT sensor on custom cold air

Hello,

I have read a few threads on the custom 2.8 "cold" air setup, but it isn't obvious to me where the IAT sensor goes on these custom jobs. I've looked at the pictures close and I don't see how you guys are doing it. How important is this sensor?

My car is a 85 Auto. I'm currently fixing many issues with it, as well as adding a comp 260h cam and getting the heads ported.

Another question, when i bought the pacesetter 70-1206 headers, some listings said they were not for MPFI engines. That can't be right, right? Some said not for vehicles with AIR. I can't find any definitive info on whether y car has AIR or not. Someone on here said most 2.8s didn't "as long as they were auto". I've also read people debating whether it hurts to delete it or not, but I'd rather not delete it if I have it.

I tried to search for this info but my internet is slow and it's a pain so forgive me and thanks for any replies
