heating problem

heating problem

ok guys i need some help with my heating system. im tired of my hands going numb lol. well heres some imfo i have a 181 thermo stat in it i re id all the vacume lines so they done leak but for some reason both lines to the core are cold even when warm i got it to running temp and opened the bottom of the heater box and touched the core and it was cold the heater control valve in the engine bay was replaced in august when i pulled the motor to replace the freeze plugs. its a 3.1 v6 any help would be greatly apreciated

With the temperature slide moved off the cold side there should be no vacuum at the water control valve. This is the valve under the hood that you replaced. Check that first.

The temperature slide is on the control head on the dash. In the full off position (all the way to the left) vacuum is applied to the under hood control valve to bypass the heater core.

ok with it all the way to the right there is vaccum in the control valve line

Need to find out why and correct it. Vacuum closes the valve off to the heater core. Of course it is easy enough to unplug the vac line from the control valve and plug the line.

Now you have heat.

i unpluged it and still no heat at all the none of the hoses are warm ecept the radiator hoses its runnin normaly under 190* cuz of the 181 thermo stat bur i got it up to 220 and it still wasnt blowing warm air

My guess is either the valve is bad or it is plumbed incorrectly.

The valve is brand new any way you can get picks of how its saposed to be plumbed
