fwd and rwd 3.1l questions

Car: 1989 IROC-Z / T-Top -1987 GTA
Engine: 305 (LO3) _350 (L98)
Transmission: 700R4 _ 700R4
Axle/Gears: 2.73 L.S. - ???
fwd and rwd 3.1l questions
are the fwd and rwd blocks for the 3.1 the same, or is the starter on the other side or something silly like that ... also is the chevy the same as a b.o.p. on the fwd ... i may have a good 3.1l to get rid of at tax time. it will be still in the car (1990 buick regal limited) and running. if it is not anyone good to someone on here, it is going to the scrap yard in town when we get the wife a car at tax time.

There are a number of differences between the Longitudinally mounted 3.1 vs the transverse mounted 3.1, one of which is starter location.
No, "BOP" is for Buick, Pontiac Oldsmobile, and is a different pattern than the Chevrolet bolt pattern, that is different than the "small corporate" pattern that that 660 uses. There are also slight differences in the longitudinal and transverse versions of the small corporate pattern as well.

thanks for the info, i did know what the bop was, just didn't know if they made one for the 3.1 or if it was like the 3rd gens ... all the same, no bop in the birds ... so over the scale it will be going
