Does the 2.8L have a MAF burnoff relay?
I want to replace this relay but I don't know what one to buy. The relay is labeled 14078907 between the air filter and radiator. I couldn't find any conclusive information about this relay inside the V6 (1986 Pontiac) so I figured I'll just ask. I'd also appreciate it if someone could point me to where I could purchase the right one.

No , our 2.8 L V6 does not have any MAF burnoff circuit .
On the V8 cars , their MAF is a 5 wire unit , whereas on our V6 , it's a 3 wire MAF . The "extra" two wires on the V8 MAF are for the burnoff function .
We have one MAF relay only , the one you found near the radiator , and it switches the +12V power to the MAF while the engine is running . (and of course the V8 cars have 2 relays , one for power and one for burnoff)

Do you know where I can find one? All my searches come up with different types of relays. I'm unsure whether they are all interchangeable or not and I don't want to buy the wrong one.

Is your MAF not getting +12V with the engine running ?
You don't say why you want to change it , so I'll have to assume your having some kind of MAF problem (code 33 or 34 , I think ?) .
Of the three wires going to our MAF , one is negative ground , one is 5V logic signal to the ECM , and one is +12V with the engine running . If you check that +12V wire and do indeed find +12V with the engine running , then there is no need to buy the relay .
Now , if it were mine and the relay was dead , I'd likely check with Rock Auto , since I've had good dealings with them in the past .

trace wires form replay to the nose, there is a junction block of wires that can get funky corroded or even break lose.
