just need an answer
I have an issue with getting 12v to my fuel pump. I just need some one to tell me how I can bypass the relay and the oil pressure switch. I just want the fuel pump to run when I turn the key to the on pos. Please don't suggest that I replace the oil p switch, relay or fuel pump. Just need a temp workaround for now and a perm fix for later. This is on a 1990 Pontiac firebird with the 3.1.

I guess you could run 12v to a on/off switch then run the hot to the tan/white wire from the oil pressure switch heading toward the fuel pump. That way you can turn the pump off whenever the car is off

goto napa or whatever buy std relay and toggle switch , wire the toggle to one of the fused circuts that only comes on with the key in the fuse box
then wire up the relay on the driver side of the engine compartment near the firewall thre is a test lead that will power the fuel bump bypassing both the oil presure switch and the relay if u apply 12 volts to it
do not do it without a relay wiring the fuel pump threw a toggle will more then likley cause the car to burn to the ground

I can say don't use a lighted switch, the bulb in it grounds through it and will pop the fuse in the nose of the car.
other then that, ive had no trouble feeding it 12v direct.

Fix it right, why make more work for yourself? Hack it now and them repair the hack later?
Figure out which part isn't working, and fix that.
