convert tpi to tbi problem

convert tpi to tbi problem

my firebird has 2.8 tbi i have get a new engine but its 2.8 TPI i have converted to TBI and install it in my car but my car didn't start i checked all cables and spark cables all good and the gas goes to tbi all ok nothing wrong ... but the car didn't start... my question is " is there a deferent between tbi and tpi blocks or something else ?

2.8 never had TPI, that's an intake design that was used on the 305 and 350s only.

A 2.8 is a 2.8, the fact that the engine had an MPFI intake on it is irrelevant. Go through and trouble shoot it as if it were the original engine.

Check ignition timing, check that all plugs are plugged in, is the engine getting fuel? Do the injectors spray when cranking? etc.
